La storia del Podere

Our History

In 2017 Neri met Chiara thanks to their shared passions: animals, agriculture and of course beer! It was in 2020 that the two decided to move permanently to the farm, also driven by the advent of the first wave of Covid. It all began with the foundation of the farm, with the aim of recovering the fields that were once cultivated but which over the years had been taken over by brambles and scrub. This is not only to preserve the history of the farm but also to conserve the biodiversity and richness of the landscape. The agricultural activity started with the production of potatoes, vegetables and fruit plants, in particular historic varieties, before moving on to the cultivation of malting barley, always using environmentally friendly methods (company in conversion to organic). The desire is to fully make use of the products that nature offers despite the fact that agriculture in marginal areas presents great challenges every day. The Fatucchio Agricultural Brewery began to take shape in 2020 when the renovation project began of the old stables and the barn from which the brewery and what is now our taproom were created respectively. In May 2022 Neri and Chiara attended the beer production techniques course at the Research Center for Beer Excellence (CERB) in Perugia, in order to tackle production at a more professional level compared to the homebrewing practiced at that moment, especially by Neri. In June 2022, the brewery entered full operation and production.
